Water Rescue at Larchmont’s Manor Beach

Manor Beach Saturday after a swimmer was pulled from the water

An elderly swimmer was pulled from the waters of Larchmont’s Manor Beach Saturday afternoon after being discovered “unresponsive, and face down in the water” according to first responders on the scene.

Lifeguards told police the man was spotted on the surface of Horseshoe Harbor in  near one of the floating swim platforms about 2:31 pm.

Responding Larchmont police and firefighters found the male victim already pulled out of the water and up onto the packed beach with lifeguards performing CPR.

An ambulance crew from Scarsdale transported him to Montefiore Hospital New Rochelle as CPR continued.

Manor Beach is a members only facility currently hosting Labor Day Weekend festivities to mark the unofficial end of Summer. The swimmer’s identity and condition were not immediately released.
