This Map of the Village of Larchmont was published in 1893 by Julius Bien & Co. in their Atlas of Westchester County, New York.
Considered to be the first map showing only the Village of Larchmont, this color lithograph shows most (if not all) of the buildings present at publication. Buildings are even color coded by type of construction, as this map was to be used for Fire Insurance purposes. The map scale is approximate 3600:1, and actual size is 19” x 28”.
Circle 7 Framing, a family-owned business in Larchmont specializing in custom framing and original antique maps and postcards, has one of these maps in its inventory, which they have allowed us to post.
“We have had this map in our inventory only 3 times in the past 8 years, and currently have just one available. This original map has beautiful, crisp colors and would look fantastic framed-up,” says Elizabeth Mahoney, co-owner of Circle 7 Framing.
