Check out a full-dome experience of Astronaut—like nothing on Earth, on Friday at 8 p.m. New Rochelle High School’s planetarium is offering a free 45-minute showing of a stunning, out of this world view of outer space. Then, head to the roof to use some real life telescopes to check out the moon, Saturn, Mars and Venus. www.nred.org

 

Pick up some thrifty ways to shop for groceries and make healthy choices with the League of Women voters of Larchmont and Mamaroneck’s Walk to the Supermarket on Saturday. The walk kicks off at 9:30 a.m. at Chatsworth Avenue School and will include stops at Stop & Shop, Trader Joe’s and A&P. Email to register.

 

Mamaroneck’s C.A.P. Center is holding a Tag Sale this Sunday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Enjoy cheap prices on both new and used toys, household items, electronics, clothes, shoes and more for a good cause. There also will be a raffle and refreshments available for shoppers. www.westcop.org

 

It’s a full day of fun and pampering at the New Rochelle Humane Society’s Annual Dog Wash this Sunday starting at 10 a.m. Treat your canine to bathing, nail clipping, food, vendors, an “Ask the Trainer” booth, Canine Good Citizen Test, police dog demonstration, activities and games and more all day long. The 2nd Annual Stephen Spina Softball Classic is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. on both days. Head out to Mamaroneck’s Harbor Island Park to support the Spina family and Crime Stoppers’ efforts. $300/team; additional donations will be accepted throughout the weekend. Sign up is available through Facebook.

 

StoryWalk at the Greenburgh Nature Center will involve a hike and children’s story along the way. Kids eight and under are invited to stop by at 2 p.m. for a free trail walk headed by senior naturalist John Mancuso. www.greenburghnaturecenter.org
