Celebrate the League of Women Voter’s 90th Anniversary with Assemblyman George Latimer at a special luncheon this Friday at 12 p.m., to be held at New Rochelle’s Davenport Club. Assemblyman Latimer will be discussing pertinent Albany-related issues at this public event. $45 per person; email lwv10538@aol.com for more information. Tickets will be available at the door.

Green Week’s last hurrah is Larchmont’s annual BARK for the PARK this Friday from 3 – 4:30 p.m. Kids can celebrate Arbor Day by planting and watering new trees in Constitution Park. Don’t forget shovels and mud boots!

Assemblyman George Latimer and Legislator Judy Myers are back with A Cup of Joe with Judy & George this Saturday at 2 p.m. Enjoy a free cup of coffee at Mamaroneck’s Nautilus Diner while discussing local issues with the representatives.

Celebrate Mother’s Day a little early this year with a Pre Mother’s Day Formal Tea, presented by the STRIVE Dance Leadership Academy of New Rochelle this Saturday, at the Hugh Doyle Center. Teatime is from 1 – 4 p.m. and tickets are $15 per person; free for children under four. Tickets can be purchased by calling (914) 654-2048.

For the 38th year, the College of New Rochelle is hosting its annual Strawberry Festival on Sunday… featuring fresh strawberries in a variety of different treats, music, face-painting and rides. Free. www.cnr.edu

Enjoy a classical concert at the New Rochelle Public Library during Keynote Concert May Day this Saturday in the Ossie Davis Theater. Larchmont’s Sheldrake Environmental Center is hosting its 2010 Spring Festival this Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. Families can enjoy crafts, face-painting, scavenger hunts, a “green” raffle and other natural, educational activities like a demonstration of Ikebana flower-arranging. There will also be shows at 1:20 p.m., 2:20 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. of local animals presented by the New Canaan Nature Center. Free for members; $5 nonmembers ages three and up. Sunday is Healthy Kids Day and the Rye Derby, featuring the 22nd Annual five mile U.S. Track and Field Sanctioned Race. FARMERS’ MARKETS

 

The Mamaroneck Indoor Farmers’ Market runs from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. this Saturday. Make sure you stop by the Carpenter’s Kids Café for a beverage while you shop!

Scarsdale’s Farmers’ Market takes place in the Village Hall’s lower level parking lot this Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. You’ll find local and organic products like wine, meat, produce and jams each week.
