Back in March, we reported that the white plastic disks washing up on local beaches came from the Mamaroneck sewage treatment plant — and the county cleaned them up. We were among the first to report this, thanks to an observant reader.
Apparently, though, that litter (albeit non-toxic) is still somewhat plentiful in our Long Island Sound. They still show up on Loop area beaches in fairly large quantities and now a  Long Island writer is  polling his readers to see if they are finding them, too.
Let us know whether you’re still spotting them, either close to home or further afield. Â Perhaps the ramifications of this spillover — which happened as the results of heavy rains — will go on longer than we thought?
check out my blog: http://wwwjarvishouse.blogspot.com/ I wrote and took pictures of Sunken Meadow Beach last week, and my friend saw some today in Bay Creat Beach in Huntington Bay. I t ry to poick the critters up when I see them.
