A familiar sight to visitors at Oakland Beach in Rye Town Park has closed its doors after 17 years.
Seaside Johnnies closed Friday. This reportedly followed months of unsuccessful talks between John Ambrose, co-owner of the restaurant, and the Rye Town Park Commission.
LoHud reported, “The two sides were unable to reach a contract agreement and the space, at 94 Dearborn Ave., was vacated Friday, said town Supervisor Gary Zuckerman, president of the commission.”
It is unclear what will open in the space, or when.
