In Scarsdale Undercover, we share some of the more…unnecessary…police activity that seems to occur only in Scarsdale, New York. The “real” crimes will continue to appear in our weekly Police Blotter.
A Vanderbilt Road resident reported “hundreds of kids in front of her home.” They were trick-or-treaters. Oct. 31
A Heathcote Road resident called police, saying “she was upset she could not get out of her driveway due to a Con-Ed worker assigned to that area blocking her driveway because of a low hanging, live wire.” The woman was insistent upon exiting her driveway and ignored the warnings of the worker and police. “It should be noted that (the resident) could have used a second and safer driveway.” Nov. 1
On Nov. 4, a Ridge Road resident reported a man sitting in a parked car, saying that the car had been there several times before and “feels to be suspicious.” Police learned the man was a private investigator working in the area. A day later, a caller reported a man sitting in a parked car on Greendale Road “for the last couple of days.” It was the same PI.
A Nelson Road resident reported that her car was stolen. Her son had taken it. Nov. 7
