The Jewish Home, Sarah Neuman in Mamaroneck is under scrutiny after a LoHud story about changes to the building layout that make parking very difficult.
The main entrance at 845 Palmer Avenue, has been moved to the back of the building. It has limited parking, most of which is reportedly used by staff, residents and visitors complain.
Village Manager Daniel Sarnoff said the nursing home made the entrance change without proper notification or paperwork.
The report says “…visitors, many of whom have limited mobility, park in the front of the complex, navigate the busy parking lot and then fight against the flow of traffic along a narrow one-way roadway in order to reach the back entrance. There is a sidewalk but it is not handicap accessible.”
