It Must Be the Heat: This week’s police blotters from the Mamaronecks, Larchmont, Rye and Scarsdale.
VILLAGE OF LARCHMONT
BURGLARY: The owner of a Boston Post Road establishment reported that between June 26 and July 3 her store had been entered on six separate occasions, and money was removed from a cash register each time. July 5
ARREST: A Mamaroneck Village man was arrested and charged with seven counts of burglary. The 25 year-old man of Center Avenue was arrested in the act of committing a burglary by a Larchmont Police Detective conducting surveillance on a Boston Post Road establishment after the owner reported six prior burglaries. A second man, a 23 year-old from Wilmot Road in New Rochelle, was also arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property and two counts of trespassing. July 5 (see above)
LARCENY: A Kane Ave resident reported that someone fraudulently opened numerous new credit card accounts in her name and posted charges in excess of $30000. July 6
VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK
STOLEN VEHICLE: A Cooper Avenue resident made a call-in complaint that their car was stolen while parked on the street. July 7
ARREST: A 57 year-old woman from White Plains was arrested for disorderly conduct on Mamaroneck Avenue after shouting profanities in public. July 7
ARREST: A 57 year-old woman from White Plains was arrested for drinking an alcoholic beverage in public and harassing people on the street. July 8
ARREST: A 17 year-old boy from Mamaroneck village was arrested for driving a car without a license and possession of stolen property while driving on Union Avenue. July 9
ARREST: A 16 year-old boy from Mamaroneck village was arrested for exposure in Columbus Park. July 9
ARREST: A 20 year-old man from the town of Mamaroneck was arrested for DWI after driving through a stop sign on meadow road. July 10
LARCENY: A Mamaroneck village resident made a call-in complaint that some of his property was stolen while at the beach in Harbor Island Park. The property included his wallet and keys. July 10
ARREST: A 23 year-old man from Rosedale, N.Y., was arrested for driving a car without a license and marijuana possession. The man was pulled over after being seen driving in a wild manner. July 10
RYE
ATTEMPTED LARCENY: A woman made a call-in complaint that a man was attempting to steal merchandise from the CVS on Boston Post Road. The woman said he put several items under his shirt, but he put them back just before leaving the store. July 7
SCARSDALE
LARCENY: An accountant for the Quaker Ridge Golf Club made a call-in complaint that someone had cashed a fraudulent check in the clubs name for a little over $4000. Chase Bank had originally called the accountant to let her know about the transaction. The check was written out to Jason Lloyd, but the identity is still unknown. July 6
ARREST: A 32 year-old man from the Bronx was arrested for DWI while at the intersection of Popham and Lockwood Road. Police approached the vehicle and notice it had been damaged. The arrested man called-in the report and was found highly intoxicated. July 10
ARREST: A 19 year-old man was arrested for marijuana possession after fleeing a bench on Brite Avenue. Police noticed the man running with his friends into the woods by Chesterfield Road. The officers caught up to the 19 year-old, who then took the officers to the bench which they fled. Under the bench was a bag of marijuana and another bag was found in the man’s shoe. July 11
