CRIME OF THE WEEK: — An employee at Dunkin’ Donuts said his manager "smacked his face" at about 10:30 a.m. while he was at work. The employee said his boss was upset because they were losing customers. The manager said he was joking around with his employee and that he will not joke in that manner anymore. TOWN OF MAMARONECK

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Myrtle Boulevard resident said somebody damaged a glass top on her patio table. July 11

ISSUING A BAD CHECK
Larchmont Nails, located at 176 Myrtle Boulevard, said somebody issued a bad check in the amount of $35. July 12

GRAND LARCENY
An airbag was removed from a car at Acura of Westchester at 2155 Palmer Avenue. The damage was estimated at $1,400. July 7

DOMESTIC ASSAULT
A 51-year-old Dillon Road man was arrested for third-degree assault. The victim refused medical treatment. July 8

AUTO ACCIDENT
An unoccupied car parked in the parking lot at Stop and Shop  rolled through the parking lot and struck the southeast corner of a garage at 24 Weaver Street at about 7 p.m. The driver of the car, an Elmsford man, said he believes he left the manual transmission out of gear and the parking brake off. July 6

 

 

Village of Larchmont


MISSING PERSON

The body of James Drago, the Mount Vernon man reported missing on 6/26 while swimming in the proximity of his boat which was anchored off the southern shore line of the Village of Larchmont, was recovered on 7/4 and positively identified by the Medical Examiner on 7/8. The cause of death is still under investigation.

LARCENY

A contractor reported on 7/3 that construction materials, valued at $1000 had been removed from a work site on Hazel Lane.

LARCENY

A Larchmont Ave resident reported on 7/8 that someone cashed a fraudulent check, drawn in the amount of $9000 against his account while he was away on vacation.

VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Forrest Avenue woman said she heard loud banging in her house at about 9:15 p.m. Police were unable to hear the banging nor were they able to determine a cause. July 5

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
Burt Billinger, a 37-year-old village man, was arrested for attempted robbery, a Class E felony, and third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, at about 11:15 p.m. on Mamaroneck Avenue. Police said they witnessed the man strike the victim, who refused medical attention, and try to take his money.   July 5

LARCENY
A Claflin Avenue resident said a wallet and other personal items were taken from an unlocked car parked in the driveway sometime overnight. Another car, also parked in the driveway, was entered but nothing was taken. July 6

A wall in the rear of the business at 620 Concord Avenue was marked with graffiti sometime after July 3 . July 6

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT/LARCENY
An Orienta Avenue resi
dent said an unlocked vehicle in the driveway was entered sometime after July 5 but no items were taken. While police were taking that report, a woman from the same neighborhood said someone entered her unlocked car and took $15. July 7

AUTO ACCIDENT
A 44-year-old Kent woman was transported to the hospital complaining of neck pain after a three-car accident on West Boston Post Road at about 11:30 a.m. July 7

DWI
A 63-year-old village woman was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated after she struck a man on Richbell Road at about 11:30 a.m. The woman said she turned right onto Richbell Road and swerved to avoid a truck that was coming toward her, hitting a man and another car. The man said he had just parked his car and was getting tools from his trunk when the car struck him in the legs and pinned him against the car.  The woman was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated for having a blood alcohol content above .18  and driving while intoxicated. Because the extent of the man’s injuries were unknown, a vehicular assault charge could be added. July 7

HARASSMENT
An Alda Road resident said somebody drove by his home and pointed at him, and he wanted the incident documented. July 7

LARCENY
An Avalon Willow resident said somebody took a package containing an iPod from the apartment building’s mail room. July 7

DWI
A 53-year-old Scarsdale woman was arrested on two counts of driving while intoxicated at about 11:15 p.m. at Station Plaza. Police said they witnessed the woman walking in an unsteady manner toward her car and later observed her driving it. The woman agreed to take the chemical test and failed. July 7

PROPERTY DAMAGED
A car parked on Tompkins Avenue was severely damaged on its roof, hood and trunk after a tree branch fell on it. July 7

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
Two women said they feared thy were being followed by another woman. July 8

ACCIDENT
A 62-year-old Scarsdale man was taken to White Plains Hospital complaining of pain to his left elbow after being struck by a car while riding his motorcycle on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 4 p.m. July 8

HIT AND RUN
A Scarsdale man said his 2009 Nissan was struck while it was parked on Mamaroneck Avenue sometime after 8 a.m. July 8

FIGHT IN PROGRESS
Responding to a report of a fight in progress on Halstead Avenue at about 4:15 p.m., police found one subject who said he was just rough-housing with his friends. July 8

DRUG ARRESTS
A 22-year-old village man was charged with criminal sale of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana, and a 30-year-old village man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at about 7 p.m. near the train station parking lot. Police said they saw a man on a bike give a packet to the other man and observed an exchange of money. July 8

DWI
A 56-year-old village man was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated after rear-ending another car on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. The man told police he ran into the other car because he was wearing slippers and his foot slipped. The man was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated for having a blood-alcohol content above .18 and driving while intoxicated. July 8

LARCENY
A Stanley Avenue resident said her GPS was taken from her unlocked car parked on Stanley Avenue sometime between 10 p.m. and 10:22 p.m. July 8

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Fifth Street resident said the rear window on her car was damaged sometime overnight. July 9

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A caller reported a sick goose on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Police notified the trapper. July 9

DOMESTIC ARREST
A 49-year-old Bridgeport, Conn., woman was arrested for second-degree assault, a felony, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, after allegedly cutting a Ward Avenue man in the upper arm with a knife at about 1:45 p.m. July 9

VILLAGE CODE VIOLATION
A 50-year-old man was issued a summons for walking his dog near Lanza Field in Harbor Island Park at about 8 p.m. The man said he did not notice the signs. July 9

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A Shore Acres Drive resident reported seeing a coyote at about 9:30 p.m. Police were unable to locate the animal. July 9

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A man said he was taking photos of the Mamaroneck River at about 8:30 a.m. when he noticed two silver toy pistols on the ground by the water. The toys were collected and brought to police headquarters. July 10

OPEN CONTAINER
A 57-year-old village woman and a 56-year-old homeless man were arrested for drinking in the Ward Avenue Park at about 10:40 a.m. July 10

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN AUTO ACCIDENT
A 29-year-old village man was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident after striking another car while he was turning left onto Fenimore Road off West Boston Post Road at about 12:45 p.m. July 10

SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 27-year-old Port Chester man was arrested for driving with a suspended license on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 1:15 p.m. July 10

EXPOSURE
A Grand Street resident said a man was exposing himself at about 11:45 p.m. Police said the report was unfounded. July 10

LARCENY
An Orienta Avenue resident said an iPod was taken from a car parked in the driveway sometime after July 5. July 11

A Howard Avenue resident said her identification card was either lost or stolen and that someone had used it on two different occasions. July 11

LARCENY
A Lawn Terrace resident said his cell phone was either lost or stolen between June 28 and June 30 and someone had made thousands of dollars of charges on it. July 11

SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 62-year-old Bedford Hills man was arrested for driving with a suspended license on Mamaroneck Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. July 11

INTOXICATED PERSON
A caller said there was an intoxicated person on East Prospect Avenue at about 7 p.m. The person was gone upon police arrival. July 11

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED
A 21-year-old Port Chester man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at about 3:30 a.m. on West Boston Post Road. Police said they saw the man drive the wrong way on Library Lane before turning right on West Boston Post Road. The car was allegedly going 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. The man was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving the wrong way on a one-way street and speeding. July 12

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Two school buses parked in the Ralph Avenue lot behind Mamaroneck Avenue School were marked with graffiti sometime after July 9. July 12

DISPUTE
Two residents at 905 Palmer Avenue engaged in a dispute at about 9 a.m. One resident complained that the other was walking her dog close to her apartment and making noise, awakening her. The second resident said the other woman sprayed water at her from her apartment window. While police were filling out the report, the second resident called back to say the other woman just gave her the middle finger. July 12

LARCENY
The rear spoiler was removed from a 2008 Acura parked in Palmer Terrace sometime after July 11. July 12

LARCENY
A police officer on patrol saw a car resting on jacks and rocks with all four tires removed at Station Plaza at about 5 p.m. July 12

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A car parked on the corner of Old White Plains Road and Mamaroneck Avenue was keyed sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 12

FIGHT IN PROGRESS
A caller reported three men arguing at the intersection of Mamaroneck Avenue and Soundview Avenue at about 5:15 p.m. The men said they were simply having a discussion. July 13

A Nautilus Lane resident said a taillight on his car was broken sometime overnight. July 13

RYE

HARASSMENT
A 62-year-old Yonkers man was charged with second-degree harassment after an incident at about 10 a.m. in the City Hall parking lot at 1051 Boston Post Road. The victim, a 20-year-old Rye woman, said she parked her car in the Rye Free Reading Room parking lot, and her car was 3 or 4 inches over the line designating her space. When she returned, she found the man pounding on her car and using obscenities about blocking him in. She approached the man to apologize, and he allegedly made an aggressive move toward her. When she attempted to flee, she struck a construction vehicle, causing minor damage to her car. As the man left, she copied down his license plate and reported the incident to police. He was later arrested. July 12

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Byrd Street resident said the rear right window on his car was broken while it was parked on LaSalle Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. July 12

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Sergio Cabrera, 27, of Port Chester was charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance, a Class E felony, at about 10 a.m. Cabrera allegedly left his smart phone in the women’s restroom at Koo, a restaurant on Purdy Avenue, to record people using the facility. July 9

LARCENY
A Hill Street resident said somebody stole an iPod and $650 in cash from her son’s bedroom during a house party on July 8. July 9

GRAND LARCENY
A Greenhaven Road resident said his 2008 Jeep Liberty, valued at $25,000, was stolen. July 9

LARCENY
A Soundview Avenue youth said his skateboard was stolen from Rye Recreation Park at 281 Midland Avenue. July 9

ASSAULT
A 36-year-old trombone player from New Orleans was charged with third-degree assault after he allegedly attacked a fellow band member in the Marriott parking lot at 631 Midland Avenue at about 5 a.m. The victim, also a member of the Soul Rebels Brass Band, was taken to Westchester Medical Center. July 10

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A golf cart was reported stolen from Rye Town Park at about 10:15 a.m. July 10

LARCENY
A board member from The Ives, townhouses located at 230 North Street, said ornamental grasses planted at the entrance had been stolen at about 11:45 a.m. July 10

ASSIST CITIZEN
A White Plains man said a man spit on his car as he pulled into the marina at 650 Milton Road at about 3 p.m.

DOMESTIC ARREST
A 42-year-old Trails End woman was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child after her husband received stitches to the back of his head from a wine bottle and was treated for a human bite wound on the forearm at Greenwich Hospital at about 11 p.m. July 11

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Maple Avenue resident said a rear tire on his car was punctured and keyed sometime overnight. July 7

SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 36-year-old Stamford, Conn., man was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at about 6:15 p.m. on Midland Avenue.

ARREST
A 48-year-old Glendale Road man was charged with confinement of a companion animal  in a vehicle in extreme temperatures at about 11:45 a.m. Police said they were responding to a report of a loose dog at Smith Street and School Street when several people reported two dogs in distress in a parked car. The outdoor temperature was approximately 100 degrees. One dog had managed to escape through a window in the car. Police found one dog, in distress, in the car and was able to open the car and get the dog out. The Humane Society was notified. July 6


SCARSDALE


ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A Cushman Road resident reported seeing a coyote in the area just before noon. Police were unable to find the animal. July 6

BURGLARY
Jewelry was taken from a Stratton Road home sometime between June 26 and July 6. Police said a kitchen window in the rear of the house was pried open and an unknown person went through drawers and closets in the master bedroom as well as the office. The matter is under investigation and no arrests have been made. July 6

DISPUTE

A passenger on a northbound Metro North train and a conductor got into an argument over the fare at about 6:30 p.m. July 6

ASSIST CITIZEN
A guest staying at an Axtell Drive residence said he was on the second floor of the home and heard someone inside the house at about 10:30 p.m.. Upon arrival, police determined the confusion was caused by a movie the homeowners were watching. An interior and exterior check of the house was completed and all was in good order. July 6

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
An Olmsted Road resident said he scared away a young passenger who had been let out of dark van near a parked car at about 4:30 a.m. Police located the van, which was occupied by three young men who were delivering newspapers. July 7

SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A Bronx man was found unconscious in the playground area of Scarsdale Community Church on Popham Road at about 9 a.m. The man, who proved to be only sleeping, said he had missed the last train the night before and thought the church parking lot would be a safe place to sleep until he could get another train. July 7

FIRE
A transformer fire on Brewster Road caused a power outage in the area just before 2 p.m. and set off numerous house alarms. July 7

LARCENY
A River Road resident said jewelry had been taken from her closet sometime between June 30 and July 7. There was no sign of forced entry, but there had been an open house at the residence, which is for sale. July 7

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A White Road resident said an unknown person placed debris on her front door step at about 4:30 p.m. Upon police arrival, the homeowner said the debris was a stray cat’s feces. July 7

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Post Road resident said her stove has been making unusual noises since the power outage earlier in the day. July 7

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
A Morris Lane resident said her house had been egged three times recently. July 8

ANIMAL COMPLAINT
A coyote was spotted on Dell Road at about 4:15 p.m., but police could not find the animal. July 8

LARCENY
A Kent Road resident said somebody stole jewelry, valued at about $17,000, from her home.. There were no signs of a forced entry and the matter is under investigation. July 8

COMPLAINT
A caller complained of an ice cream truck selling without a permit at about 8:15 p.m. on Chase Road. July 8

DISORDERLY PERSON
Police received a report of a cab driver parked in a handicapped space being confrontational at about 9 a.m. at Spencer Place and East Parkway. The driver was gone upon police arrival. July 9

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Paddington Road woman said she is receiving suspicious text messages from a person claiming to have found her missing keys and wallet. Police attempted to make contact with the subject with negative re
sults. July 9

LARCENY
A Garden Road resident said a watch, valued at about $5,200, and various clothes, valued at about $8,000, were taken from his home. There were no signs of a forced entry and the matter is under investigation. July 9


SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A caller reported a suspicious man digging up the baseball diamond on Crossway Field at about 6 p.m. Upon their arrival, police found landscapers working on water sprinklers on one of the ballfields. July 9

LOST PROPERTY
A Garth Road resident said she left her purse in Scarsdale Hardware at about 7 p.m. When she called, she was told it was not there. July 9

SUSPENDED LICENSE
A New Rochelle woman was cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license at about 8 p.m. on Fenimore Road. July 9

YOUTH COMPLAINT
A caller complained of several youths in the area of Chesterfield Road and Hampton Road possibly drinking beer at about 11 p.m. The kids dispersed upon police arrival and police found no evidence of drinking. July 9

YOUTH COMPLAINT
An Aspen Road resident complained of youths in the park making noise at about 1 a.m. Police found the youths and advised them to leave the park quietly, which they did. July 10

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Offensive graffiti was found on the basketball courts at Hyatt Field at about 9:30 a.m. July 10

NOISE COMPLAINT
An Obry Drive resident complained of  a loud party in the area at about 10 p.m. Police found an adult part on Heathcote Road and asked the DJ to lower the volume on the equipment. July 10

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A Rock Creek Lane resident said someone attempted to open her front door at about 11:30 p.m. Police conducted an exterior and interior check of the home and found no evidence of an attempted entry. July 10

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
The Greenburgh police said they received a report of a woman crawling in the grass near Greenacres Avenue and Fountain Terrace at about 2:30 a.m. In conjunction with three other agencies, police canvassed the area with negative results. An extensive search of the bicycle path along the Bronx River Parkway was conducted but the subject was not found. July 11

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED
A 24-year-old Yonkers man refused medical treatment after he collided head-on with a utility pole on Mamaroneck Road at about 3:30 a.m. the morning after his birthday. The man, who said he swerved to avoid an animal in the road, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of .18, driving while intoxicated and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. July 11

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A passerby reported a person illegally coning off parking spaces in the Scarsdale Pool parking lot at about 4 p.m. The caller said the person did not appear to be a pool employee. Police canvassed the area but did not observe any spaces coned off. July 11

A Scarsdale resident complained of loud youths at Hyatt Field at about 11:15 p.m. The youths dispersed upon police arrival, but police observed shaving cream spread throughout the playground area. One youth was located, who said a shaving cream war had taken place prior to his arrival. July 10.
