RYE

BURGLARY AND FALSE IMPRISONMENT

 A 21-year-old Port Chester man was arrested after allegedly entering  
a coworker’s apartment around 5 a.m. on April 25, touching her while  
she slept and then pinning her down for 40 minutes as she tried to  
get away .  The suspect was charged with second-degree burglary and unlawful  
imprisonment.  The victim was not injured and refused medical attention.
After returning from work, the woman fell asleep with the door to  
her Theodore Fremd Avenue apartment unlocked, police said.
When she awoke, she found Vega in her bedroom and a 40-minute  
struggle ensued. The victim eventually got away and later contacted  
police.   Police said the suspect was arrested on April 28 while walking to work.

LARCENY

A Rye YMCA employee said his watch was stolen after he took it off to play in a basketball game. The employee said he left his watch overnight, and when he returned the next day, it was gone. April 28

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

An employee of the Rye Library reported that somebody damaged a door in the building. April 28

LARCENY

A woman reported that her son’s Razor Scooter was stolen from in front of the YMCA at 21 Locust Avenue. April 29

SUSPENDED LICENSE

A 50-year-old Stamford, Conn., man was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at Purchase Street and Station Plaza around 8:45 p.m. Police said the driver was originally stopped because one of his car’s headlights was out. April 29

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

A 51-year-old Norwalk, Conn., man was arrested for driving under the influence at Boston Post Road and Rectory Street. Police said they received a report of a suspicious car in front of Resurrection School.  When police arrived around 5 p.m., the man allegedly was asleep at the wheel with the car in drive. Police said his car had struck an unoccupied vehicle parked at that location. Police said they awoke the man, who was found to have an empty bottle of vodka and three cans of beer. April 30

YOUTH COMPLAINT

Police said they received a report of a large group of kids having a party at a Stuyvesant Avenue residence. Police witnessed approximately 50 kids running away from the house when they arrived around.  No arrests were made.  May 1

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

The owner of Bilotta Construction Corporation said a light was damaged and empty beer cans were found on the business’ property at 296 Purchase Street. The damage was estimated at $125.  May 3

LARCENY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

A woman reported that about $35 in change was taken from the glove compartment of her car parked on Maple Avenue.  May 3

 

TOWN OF MAMARONECK

 

PETTY LARCENY

A Murray Avenue woman reported the car radio taken from her unlocked car while it was parked in her driveway. The radio was valued at $100.  April 27

PETIT LARCENY

A Trek Bicycle was reported stolen from a Larchmont Acres resident. The bike, valued at $300, was taken from the building’s storage area. April 30

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Four tires on a 2006 Jeep Cherokee were punctured while the car was parked on Locust Terrace. There was also a key mark on the driver’s side door. May 2

GRAND LARCENY

A Hommocks Road man reported his red 2005 Honda ATV stolen from his locked garage some time after Jan. 1.  May 3

 

VILLAGE OF MAMARONECK

 

ANIMAL STRUCK

A large dog was struck by a driver on West Boston Post Road at about 8:30 a.m.  Police said the leashed dog started to chase a squirrel into the street and was sideswiped by a car. The dog was taken to an animal hospital for treatment. April 28

PETIT LARCENY

A Trek bicycle was reported stolen from the bike rack at F.E. Bellows Elementary School. The bike was reportedly left locked to the rack over the weekend.  April 28

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

Police received a report of two people, possibly homeless, coming out of a dumpster at 125 Spencer Place at 8:47 a.m. The people were gone when police arrived.  April 29

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

Police received a report of two suspicious people, possibly homeless, at 222 Valley Place at 9:12 a.m.   The people were gone when police arrived. April 29

LARCENY

A 31 year-old Mamaroneck Village woman was arrested for petty larceny for allegedly taking $73.88 worth of groceries from the A&P at 805 Mamaroneck Avenue.  April 29

SUSPENDED LICENSE

A 30-year-old New Rochelle man was arrested for driving with a suspended license at 560 Palmer Avenue. April 30

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

A 29 year-old Pelham woman was arrested for driving under the influence at 1265 West Boston Post Road at about 11 p.m.  Police said they witnessed the car traveling over the speed limit and pulled the driver over.  The woman refused to take the chemical test.  April 30

HARASSMENT

A 14-year-old girl reports being followed by a man driving an SUV on Mamaroneck Avenue who was making lewd comments. Police said the matter is under investigation but no arrests have been made.  May 1

LARCENY FROM MOTOR VEHICLES

A 16 year-old from Ma
maroneck Village boy was arrested on two charges of petty larceny on Travers Avenue and Arlington Street around 11:30 a.m.
  Police received a report of two suspicious boys looking through cars parked on Travers Avenue.  Police said they saw the glove boxes open in multiple cars and arrested one of the teens.  It is unclear what had been taken from the cars.  May 1

ASSAULT

A 19 year-old Mamaroneck Village woman was arrested after allegedly getting into a fight with a 22-year-old Pelham woman at her Center Avenue apartment around 4 a.m. Both women went to the hospital after the fight, police said, and the Pelham woman filed a complaint at police headquarters. The Mamaroneck Village woman was arrested at police headquarters around 9:30 a.m.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A Mamaroneck man reported the sideview mirror cables cut off his Mitsubishi truck and several lawn mowers in the back were damaged on either May 1 or May 2.

LARCENY

A Girard Street resident reported the sideview mirror stolen from her 2003 Toyota, which was parked in the street.   May 2

HIT AND RUN

Two cars parked on Bleeker Avenue were damaged after reportedly being side-swiped. No description of the offending vehicle could be provided. May 2

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

A 29 year-old Mamaroneck Village resident was arrested on Old White Plains Road around 10 p.m. Police said they received a complaint from an Old White Plains Road resident that a man whom he had an order of protection against was on his property. When police arrived, they saw the man dump a bag of marijuana and placed him under arrest.  At headquarters, it was learned that the order of protection against the man had not yet been served. It was also learned that the man had an outstanding warrant for second-degree assault.   May2

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A Halstead Avenue woman reported that the front window of her home was smashed by a rock sometime in the early-morning hours.   May 3.

VILLAGE OF LARCHMONT

VEHICLE & TRAFFIC LAW ARREST

A Bronx woman was arrested on 4/26, and charged with operating with a suspended license after being observed operating a vehicle on Chatsworth Ave. The vehicle was released to another driver, and the operator released on the issuance of an appearance ticket.

LARCENY

A Mamaroneck Town man reported his bicycle, valued at $300,  stolen from Lot 1.  April 26

VEHICLE IMPOUND

A scofflaw vehicle with $600 in outstanding fines was impounded and towed from Lot 3 on 4/27.

LARCENY

A New Rochelle man reported on 4/28 that his bicycle, valued at $700, was stolen from Lot 3.

LARCENY

A Mamaroneck Town man reported on 4/29 that his bicycle, valued at $500, was stolen from Railroad Way.

FRAUDULENT CHECKS

A Bay Ave resident reported on 4/29 that someone had cashed two fraudulent checks against his account for an aggregate value of$6900.

 

NEW ROCHELLE

 

ASSAULT

A 42 year-old New Rochelle woman and her 16 year-old son were arrested for beating up the boy’s father, a 46 year-old New Rochelle man.  The victim suffered head pain.  The woman also was charged with violating court orders of protection that the son had against her.  XXX 95 First Street.  May 2

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

A 28 year-old New Rochelle man was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more.  Union Avenue and Charles Street.  May 2

PETIT LARCENY

A 51 year-old Mount Vernon man was arrested and charged with stealing six sanding blocks (value $15) and a hinge template (value ($27) from Home Depot.  Police say the suspect placed the items under bags of concrete, for which he paid.  55 Weyman Avenue.  May 1

PETIT LARCENY

A 17 year-old Mount Vernon man was arrested for taking ayellow bicycle from bushes that did not appear to belong to him.  Badeau Place and Union Avenue.  April 30

ASSAULT

Two men walking on Washington Avenue reported being confronted by 15-20 men who threatened them.  One of the men escaped; the other, a 15 year-old New Rochelle male was beaten up.  The victim suffered a chipped lower front tooth and scrapes to hands and elbows.  He refused medical attention.  A 14 year-old MountVernon male was arrested in connection with this incident.  Glover Johnson Place and Lockwood Avenue.  April 30

LARCENY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

The passenger side window of a parked 2007 Cadillac was smashed and the owner’s handbag, including $700 cash, and cell phone were taken.  901 Pinebrook Boulevard.  May 2

 

SCARSDALE

 

SUSPICIOUS ITEM

Police received a report of a briefcase atop a garbage can.  Upon investigation, police found the suitcase empty and placed it in a dumpster.  1 Boniface Circle.  April 27

FOUND PROPERTY

An abandoned bicycle was found at the corner of Popham Road and East Parkway.  April 28

ANIMALS

Three reports of a raccoon, possibly sick.  9 Hamilton Road, 12 Hamilton Road and 7 Fairview Road.  April 27 & 28, May 1

LARCENY

Guitar reported stolen from Scarsdale High School.  1055 Post Road.  April 28

LARCENY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

A White Plains man reports a briefcase stolen from his1996 Jeep parked in front of the Post Office.  29 Chase Road.  April29

LARCENY

A Scarsdale woman reports that her 2006 Acura was broken into and items were removed.  23 Fenimore Road.  April 30

ASSISTANCE RENDERED

Police responded to a report of protesters marching down Garden Road near Varian.  Upon investigation, police determined the group was conducting a peace walk for a Nuclear Free Future with a final destination of the United Nations.  Police found the group to be orderly and not in violation of any law. Garden Road.  April 30

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A Scarsdale resident reports a rock thrown through a window.  22 Fairview Road.  April 30

NOISE COMPLAINTS 

Police received complaints of noisy youth at Hyatt Field, Greenacres School,140 Brewster Road and 30 Cambridge Road. May 1
