Pet Project: Adopt Queen

Queen, dog

from the New Rochelle Humane Society:

My name is Queen, but I don’t have a royal attitude at all. Quite the opposite. I’m a serious cuddler.

I was originally brought to this shelter by my first owner. He said I tried to run away and decided he didn’t want me anymore. I don’t think I tried to run away, but I think I was better off here if he didn’t want me.

Anyway, I was then adopted by a new family. They returned me 3 months later and I was in really bad shape. I was so skinny that my shelter friends didn’t recognize me and were very worried about me. I was starving. All my ribs were sticking out. It was embarrassing. I was also really scared of people when I was brought back because I had been hit by them at my second home.

Now that I’m back here again, I’m getting myself back in shape, putting on some weight, getting comfortable with my old friends and enjoying meeting new ones. I love going on buddy walks with my four-foot friends and some of the two-footers. I’m having a great time and am looking forward to adopting a new family!

You can meet this dog today! We are open seven days a week from 10am to 4pm and Thursdays from 2pm to 8pm!
