Pet Project: Adopt Coco

CoCo dog
from the New Rochelle Humane Society:
My name is CoCo but some of my friends call me CoCoPuff. I’d like to tell you a little bit about me. I’m a young teenage girl. I’m kind of small and will be about 45 pounds when I’m done growing.

I grew up playing with other dogs and am super cool with dogs. I’m kind of the ambassador here and introduce new dogs to our shelter. Sometimes I help teach them how to play politely with other dogs, since I’m super good at that and some of them need some remedial help.

When I was really little, I didn’t get as many chances to meet people and check out the world as I would have liked. As a result, I’m a little bit shy around new people and new places. New stuff is kind of weird to me. For example, when I first came here, I was scared to leave the shelter and go for a walk around the block. It was too weird out there.

Lucky for me, the folks at the shelter were really patient with me and helped me discover the world at my pace. So I was able to relax and enjoy the wonderful sights and smells of the neighborhood! Same thing with my shelter human friends. Now that we’ve been properly introduced they are my forever friends and I love hanging with them. They tell me that I’m really gentle and sweet, which makes my tail wag and wag!

You can meet me today! We are open seven days a week from 10am to 4pm, and on Thursdays from 2pm to 8pm
