Pattern of Burglaries from Cars at Larchmont Parking Lot

Town of Mamaroneck Police tell us of a disturbing pattern of burglaries from cars parked at the New York Sports Club lot on Madison Avenue in Larchmont.

November 6, three cars were broken into, the windows all smashed, between 5:45 pm and 7:00 pm. And it happened in the morning, too: On November 15, two cars were broken into, windows smashed again, between 5:55 am and 6:55 am.

In some cases purses or bags were stolen.

Det. Sandra DiRuzza of Mamaroneck Village Police writes,

Over the weekend, we had several incidents where vehicle windows were damaged/shattered while the vehicles were parked and unoccupied either on the street or in parking lots.  Miscellaneous items were then removed from inside the vehicle. Please remind your readers not to leave any items in plain view inside their vehicles even if the doors are locked. Items should either not be left in the vehicle or put inside the trunk compartment out of view.

” I asked the NYSC NUMEROUS times to put up a sign to warn people they STILL have NOT done it”

A sign for what? Not to leave your valuables exposed? Sorry for your troubles, but I’m glad they haven’t raised my gym rates to basically tell people to exercise what should be common sense.

I’m a NYSC member at larchmont and I JUST got back from the gym (8pm 11/19) and I had no idea this happened until a friend of mine sent me this link. NYSC really needs to act.
