Rye City Councilwoman Catherine Parker won a victory of 53% over Tom Murphy’s 47% in the Democratic Primary Tuesday for the Westchester County Board of Legislators open seat in District 7.
District 7 covers Mamaroneck, Larchmont and Rye, and portions of Harrison and New Rochelle.
Thomas Murphy conceded to Parker, saying he will support Parker this fall.
“I think it’s important to keep the seat Democratic and I wish Catherine good luck,” he is quoted as saying.
Parker will run against Republican candidate John Verni of New Rochelle in November.
