Open Mike: Religion on Main Street

Since this photo was snapped, the church has been demolished.

I’d like to share something with you. As you know, the Union Baptist Church (New Rochelle) just had their beautiful castle of a white marble church burn down to the ground.

This afternoon, (Saturday) I was walking down Main Street, and I heard loud voices from a loudspeaker. The Reverend Hudson, a small choir, and a large group of worshipers from Union were having a public preach on Memorial Plaza. It was inspirational. The Reverend delivered a beautiful talk about being raised up, and paralleled that with raising up their church again.

They were wearing “We Will Rebuild”  T-shirts, which had the legend Psalm 11:3 printed at the bottom.

When I returned home, I checked Psalms, and the passage 11:3  is: “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
I was just inspired by their spirit.
