NY Parking Garages: ‘An Outlaw Class’ ?

From partner InvestigateNY:  New York City parking garages are often very crowded. This is nothing new. And it’s usually not legal, either. But with lax enforcement, and every economic incentive, New York City parking garages may be costing you a few dents, and costing the City millions in lost tax revenue.

Maybe the problem is too much bureaucracy and regulation? How many cars to fit in is a business decision for the operator, not a requirement to be imposed by the government. Some will pack ’em tight and be cheap, others will cost more but give the white glove treatment. You as a consumer decide which type of operation you want to use.
