New Rochelle High Principal Wants Job Back after Hired, Fired in NYC

Now he wants his job back.

Former New Rochelle High School principal Reginald Richardson, who resigned as principal on July 19th after the New York City Department of Education offered him a consulting job that it rescinded the next day, is now rescinding his resignation from NRHS.

The school board will meet to review his request on August 7th.

The New York Post reported former New Rochelle High School principal Reginald Richardson, who had just announced that he would resign, briefly landed a new job at the New York City Department of Education. Then, The Post reports, Richardson was abruptly let go the following day after The Post called the DOE.

“Despite the fact that a simple online search yields a number of stories about his past controversies, Richardson told The Post that a team of DOE interviewers never asked him about them,” the Post reports, including including a grade-fixing scandal, the murder of one student and the stabbing of two others.

Richardson joined New Rochelle HS in 2013 after 15 years at the New York City Education Department.
