A New Rochelle man accused of suffocating his daughter, a second grader at Ward Elementary School. was arraigned in Westchester County Court Thursday.
Neil White, 47, was charged with one count of Murder in the Second Degree.
According to the complaint, on June 6, 2017, at approximately 3:05 p.m., the nanny who helped to care for the victim came to the father’s home at 3 Arbor Glen i She went to the third floor of the home and found White bleeding from both his wrists from self-inflicted knife wounds. The nanny became frightened and fled the home.
According to the complaint, “The nanny immediately contacted the victim’s mother and the police. New Rochelle Police Officers who arrived on the scene a few minutes later entered the home and found the defendant in the master bedroom. Other officers found the victim in her bedroom, under her blanket, cold and in a state of rigor.
Later, the defendant was taken to the hospital for treatment where the cuts to his wrists were closed with stitches, where he was also read his rights and questioned. Defendant was subsequently charged in the death of his daughter.”
The child’s mother, Michelle Hord-White, is a Vice President of Recruitment at NBCUniversal.
The defendant pled not guilty. His next court date is August 24, 2017 and he faces 25 years to life in state prison.
