‘Monet’s Garden’ at Botanical Garden

The New York Botanical Garden nearby in the Bronx opened a gorgeous tribute to French Impressionist Claude Monet this past weekend.

His amazing garden at Giverny is re-envisioned indoors at the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, including a re-interpretation of the lovely Japanese bridge and pond that inspired his impressionist art.

In addition, two rarely seen paintings by the artist—one of which has never been shown in the United States—will be on display in the Rondina Gallery.

Author Elizabeth Murray will be on hand to explain her decades-long photographic work documenting the   gardens at Giverny and the way they look today.

Currently, Monet’s garden in France displays 200,000 annuals, biennials, and perennials each year. He also maintained a two and a half acre vegetable and flower garden on a separate property.

Re-creation of Monet's Grande Allee at the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.

Poems by Monet’s friends are on view in French and English translation, mounted on large standing placards located outside on the garden grounds.

There’s also a new downloadable NYBG Bloom App featuring Monet’s Garden.
