Mamaroneck High School Autism Awareness Club held a special concert at the school just before the holidays.

The honored guest was none other than former Larchmont Mayor Liz Feld, now the President of Autism Speaks.

The concert in the PACE theatre called “Listen Up! A Benefit Concert for Autism Speaks” was an evening of music performed by talented high school students and raised over $8000 for AutismCares.

Autism Spectrum Disorder affects approximately 1 in 68 children (and 1 in 42 boys) and is the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the U.S. The club, in partnership with Autism Speaks, is working to increase acceptance, respect, and support for those affected by ASD.

Funds raised by this event will help AutismCares, which provides grants to disadvantaged families in times of crisis.
