A $50 million Mamaroneck School District improvement bond proposal was approved by voters Tuesday.
The final vote was 856-219, according to reports.
Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Shaps thanked the community for it’s support.
“We thank the community for its support of these important capital projects that will impact all six schools,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert I. Shaps writes. “As we reiterated in the past many months, the bond includes work that was identified as being necessary in the 2015 Building Conditions Report and is critical for the safety of our school buildings.
Repairs are targeted for school exteriors, plumbing, security systems, fire alarms, roofs, and ventilation.
The one disappointment is the low voter turn=out. There should be more community participation.
