Mamaroneck Town’s Summer Conservation Corps Maintains the Trails

So who do you think is keeping the Leatherstocking Trail, parts of Sheldrake Environmental Center and other trails so nice?

They’re up early in the morning.

The Town of Mamaroneck Conservation Department hires local high school and college students to help maintain the Town’s conservation areas and trails. The conservation corps has been busy picking up litter and debris, clearing dead trees and limbs, spreading wood chips, fixing bridges and boardwalks and removing invasive vines.

Led by Town Environmentalist Liz Paul.,High school and college students between the ages of 16 and 21 can apply for next year’s crew during March 2017.
