Mamaroneck Toddler’s Death Ruled a Homicide

After a four-month wait for autopsy results, the death of a two-year old in Mamaroneck has been ruled a homicide. Westchester County Medical Examiner’s office said the cause of Gabriella Boyd’s death is undetermined, but the manner of death is a homicide.

In the tragic incident on Chestnut Avenue April 28 that resulted in the toddler’s death, two Village of Mamaroneck police officers were injured by the her mother, Cynthia Arce, who was also wounded by police.

“The answer is it doesn’t come as a surprise,” Martin Rosen, the attorney for Gabriella’s father, Stephen Boyd, tell reporters. “There is clearly an indication that it was a homicide.”

Boyd is suing Mamaroneck Police and Child Protective Services for negligence in the death of his daughter.
