Local parents and students say an alleged incident involving a robbery by a Mamaroneck High School student with a gun took place at private residence in New Rochelle Nov. 2.
New Rochelle Police say only that “an alleged incident occurred at a private residence, involved juveniles, and is currently under investigation.”
One parent on Facebook group Mamaroneck/Larchmont Moms and Dads writes,
“It saddens me to share that during a party hosted by a Mamaroneck High School student on Nov. 2, a group of MHS students forced their way into a private party, robbed a student of his phone by showing him a gun, and then fired into the air as the victim tried to retrieve it. As you can imagine, the partygoers were scared and shocked. Many students went to the police to provide statements, and the homeowner and others filed charges. On the Monday after the party, Nov. 4, when the students who committed the violence were back in class, our brave students went to MHS’ principal to relay their concerns about their safety.”
Police will neither confirm or deny this description of the alleged events.
Because the incident occurred off grounds, the School District has no legal jurisdiction. The students involved were said to have been suspended from school.
New Rochelle police are releasing no further details at this time.
What ever happened with this. I’ve seen nothing else written about it.
