A record number of Student Aid Scholarships have been awarded to Mamaroneck High School’s Class of 2019.
Sixty-three two-year scholarships representing a commitment of over $426,000 were given to 16% of the graduating class.
Among the many deserving recipients are Mamaroneck triplets Dimitrios Orfanos, Eleni Orfanos and Katerina Orfanos, who were each awarded a Children’s Corner Scholarship.
The award commemorates the Children’s Corner of Larchmont-Mamaroneck, Inc. which provided affordable before and after-school childcare to children in grades K-6 in the Mamaroneck-Larchmont community from 1983 to 2018. When it ceased its operations in June of 2018, the Children’s Corner made a generous donation to the Mamaroneck-Larchmont Student Aid Fund. Children’s Corner Scholarships were awarded to four students, Justin Laureano, and the three Orofanos Seniors.
In total, 63 scholarships were awarded.
The Mamaroneck-Larchmont Student Aid Fund was established in 1937 to help MHS graduates afford college. For more information, please visit its website: http://www.mlsaf.org/.
