Have you seen Vincent around town? He is the Mamaroneck Village Police Department’s K9. And like all law enforcement officers, he deserves to be protected on the job.
Now, Vincent will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
Vincent and his partner, Police Officer Osvald Ramos, are trained in conducting searches (including article, building, and area,) tracking (for both suspects and missing persons,) criminal apprehension and narcotics detection.
K9 Vincent and his partner, Police Officer Osvaldo Ramos, began working together in February 2016. K9 Vincent is a German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois mix, which is now the preferred mix for dogs in law enforcement. The “shepherd” gives the dog the favored temperament and intelligence and the “malinois” gives the desired determination and drive.
K9 Vincent’s vest is possible thanks to a fundraiser hosted by Denalyn Allen of San Antonio, TX and will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Chucky.”
