In a heart stopping game between two powerhouse teams Mamaroneck High School Varsity boys lacrosse blasted out a win in overtime to secure the section one championship title.
The MHS Tigers started off domineering the opposition but the Mahopac Indians ramped up their momentum to catch up in the second half. With fierce precision, MHS continued to hammer in goals but with less than sixty seconds left in the game Mahopac secured an 11-11 tie.
Overtime lasted only 17 seconds with Reed Malas claiming the ball upon the first face off and passes it to Eric Greenberg who rips into the goal for victory. For offensive player Greenberg it was his 6th goal of the game making him the clear MVP of the night.
Next Wednesday May 31 the Tigers play either Section 2 or Section 9.
