Defending State Champions Mamaroneck Field Hockey won 1-0 in double overtime in the state finals against Ward Melville, securing their second state title in as many years.
Brigid Knowles (freshman) scored the game-winner with 2:46 left in the 2nd OT. Charlotte Mackie was awesome throughout the game, especially in the 1st OT, where she had five saves; she won the sportsmanship award as well.
Katie Cotter, Lizzie Clarke, and Grace Fitzgerald got all tournament team honors.
In the tradition of Mamaroneck High School honoring its winning teams, the girls came back to the high school with a fire truck escort.
