Update: the restaurant is working to re-open Tuesday
On what’s usually one of its busiest weekends of the year, the Mamaroneck Diner closed temporarily on Friday after two customers contacted the restaurant to say they’d been sickened by what the Westchester County Department of Health confirms is a potential Norovirus outbreak.
The popular East Boston Post Road restaurant voluntarily closed temporarily as a precautionary measure. The novovirus is often called a “stomach bug” and is the most contagious food borne illness in the US.

It has recently been brought to our attention that a few people have gotten ill from a common virus in and or around our diner. As we cannot be sure that it has started from inside the diner, we are taking every precaution and care necessary to ensure the health and safety of our diner, employees and patrons.
