Mamaroneck Community Nursery Schools

Cooperative Nursery Schools, where parents play a part from the start!

MAMARONECK COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL:

Mamaroneck Community Nursery School, located at 501 Tompkins Ave.Mamaroneck United Methodist Church (education) building, offers children ages 3-5 a place to learn through play.  As an educational complement to the home, MCNS provides children with a variety of experiences for a child’s physical, social and intellectual development.   “Play is a young child’s vehicle for learning” is school’s philosophy that it has remained true to since it was founded in 1974.  MCNS is also a non-profit parent cooperative.  Though not mandatory, parents participate by helping in the classroom once a month which allows them to spend time with their child in a structured environment with their peers and teachers.  Parent participation is also encouraged at the school which gives it a strong sense of community.  MCNS is also the site of the yearly Lollipop Fair, the only local fair geared to preschool aged children.  The school is non-denominational and offers an extended day program from 8:45 to 2:45 with a parent coordinated lunch bunch.  For more information contact Lynda Merchant, Director, Mamaroneck Community Nursery School at 914-381-2655 or mcnschool@aol.com.  You may also visit the website at www.mcnschool.org. in the
