One of the most enduring retailers in Larchmont, Designer One, will close its doors after 38 years.
Owner Eric Newland writes, “Louise and I will be closing our store at the end of June after much agonizing. We hope our presence has been welcoming and a representative to what a small boutique is to be:. Warm and welcoming to all who supported us over the years, a carefully crafted and curated collection for many to shop in.”
The Newlands supported many school fairs and events, the garden club, Larchmont Chorale, sports teams, and Designer One Scholarships to the Mamaroneck High School Arts department to name a few.
Louise will continue to work as a private consultant, while Eric is working on a film project “The Parallel Game,” about the segregation in baseball through the decades between the 1920’s-1950’s.
Join them Friday June 19th for a big party to say goodbye.
