Larchmont is now home to Larchmont Thrift & Consignment, a new thrift store and consignment shop selling clothing, handbags, shoes, jewelry, electronics, toys and many other items.
This is the first bricks and mortar store for Frank Dibuono, a New Rochelle resident, who has been an online seller for many years. Dibuono had his sights set on Larchmont for his store saying, “I wanted to be in a tight knit community”. His mother, Diane, who was happy to be helping her son with his new venture, joins him in the store.
Customers can drop off items any time during store hours (see below) Items are sold through the store and through the owner’s online sites. Sales proceeds are split 60% to customers and 40% to the store. For items that are not sold within 3 months, customers can opt to take them back or leave them in the store on a month-to-month basis for a 50/50 the split.
Golden Shoestring, located just one block away, relies on donations to stock its store. Dibuono feels that having the two thrift shops in such close proximity will be helpful to build on each other’s business.
