Larchmont ‘Streetscape’ Not to be Completed by Fall

streetscape

Plans for the on-again-off-again Streetscape Project in Larchmont , now started, are outlined in this letter from  from Larchmont Larchmont Mayor Anne McAndrews:

To our Residents, Merchants and Property Owners:

At long last, after many stops and starts, the Palmer Avenue
Streetscape Improvement Project will begin in earnest right after
Labor Day.  Because of this summer’s delay in starting, the entire
project will not be completed this Fall.  Some areas will be held
over until Spring 2015.

The sequence of sidewalks and curbs to be replaced is controlled by
the scheduled re-paving of Chatsworth Avenue from North Avenue to
Roosevelt Avenue this Fall.  Simply put, those curbs have to go in
first.  (By the way, Con Edison is sharing in the cost of the
re-paving.)

Here is the sequence for this Fall:

Chatsworth from North to Vanderburgh

Chatsworth from train stairs to Franklin

Palmer from Chatsworth to Depot Way

Palmer from Chatsworth to East Avenue

If this segment is completed by the first week of November, then
Palmer from East Avenue to West Avenue

If not, then Palmer Avenue from Chatsworth to Franklin will be the
last area completed in 2014.

Tree removal work began 8/28 on Palmer Avenue and will continue on
Chatsworth Avenue
Friday, August 29. Parking in certain
areas will be limited those days but restored at intervals as the
work is completed.

Thank you to all for your patience and cooperation.  We know you will
be delighted with the final outcome when the work is completed.  If
you have any questions or concerns while the work is in progress,
please e-mail them to [email protected].
