Larchmont Mamaroneck Little League Alums Picked in MLB Draft

The Larchmont Mamaroneck Little League (LMLL) is feeling pretty proud. Two alumnae of the little league organization have been selected in the 2019 MLB Draft.

With the 256th pick, the Houston Astros selected Luis Guerrero, who played in the LMLL from 2005-2011, from T-Ball through Majors and on Travel from 10U-12U, according to the League.

A second LMLL alum was selected in the 2019 MLB Draft. Kumar Nambiar, who played in the LMLL from 2005-2010 (from Gold through Majors, as well as 10U through 12U travel), was selected in the 34th round by the Oakland A’s.

Kumar, a left-handed pitcher who played his college ball at Yale, was the New York State Player of the Year in 2015 when he went 10-0 for Mamaroneck High School and led the Tigers to their third state championship, according to the League.

Congratulations to both!
