In response to the brutal execution of two NYPD officers in Brooklyn Saturday, J and F Chatsworth Autobody is stepping up.
In January and February, the business will donate $5 from the sale of every tire to the Silver Shield Foundation. George Steinbrenner’s Yankee Silver Shield Foundation provides for the education of the children of New York City police officers, firemen and Port Authority employees who died in the line of duty.
Said Vincent Sparano of J and F, “(It) really got to me. Especially listening to the son make comments about missing his father.”
NYPD officer Rafael Ramos, gunned down Saturday along with his partner, Wenjian Liu, leaves behind a 13 year old son. An older son’s college education will be covered by Bowdoin College, which he attends.
