Larchmont Day- Your Ultimate Guide

Larchmont is turning 125 !

On September 22, 1891, the Larchmont Manor Company was dissolved and the community was officially incorporated as the Village of Larchmont.

It’s our quasquicentennial. (There will not be a quiz, don’t worry.) But you can thank Larchmont125, a busy committee of locals, for organizing most of the events below.

Here’s the line up of events:

Saturday, September 26:

(postponed) 10:30 am– Interfaith service at St. Augustine’s Church, with a “coffee house” to follow in the church cafeteria.

Noon- Dedication of new children’s garden at the Larchmont Library in memory of 3hree year old Ryder Gordon Brown.

Noon– Larchmont native Kevin O’Keefe will perform his one-man act “Circus Minimus” in St. Augustine’s Msgr. Kenny Hall.

“I attended St. Augustine’s Grammar School back in the 1970s and have great memories of growing up in Larchmont,” said O’Keefe. “It’ll be fun to perform on the same stage. They also have me judging a pie-baking contest at the street festival after the show. I’ve never done that before.”

The One-Man-Circus-in-a-Suitcase gives everyone an opportunity to participate in an enthralling, whimsical celebration of the imagination.  From O’Keefe’s suitcase an entire circus emerges: tent, band, lights, the boisterous ringmaster Steve Fitzpatrick, the officious Mervin Merkle, the incredible Bumblini Family, the Magician to the Stars Clyde Zerbini, and Keefer, an innocent trying to run away and join the circus. However, the most important performers emerge from the audience.

Kids $12.50/Adults $25 Tickets available here.

1 to 4 p.m. The first Larchmont Day Street Festival will take over Larchmont Avenue from Boston Post Road to Cherry Avenue with food vendors, Big Trucks, music, dancing, games prizes, food and contests for yo-yo, bubble gum blowing, limbo, pie baking and eating and more.

1:00- 5:00 pm-The 13th annual Larchmont Arts Festival will run alongside the street fest from 1 to 5 p.m. at Constitution Park.
