The closely watched race between Republican Julie Killian and Democrat Shelley Mayer will be resolved April 24, and fill the Senate seat vacated by George Latimer, the Democrat elected Westchester County Executive last year.
This election will help determine the balance of power in the New York State Senate.
It’s a race that has drawn millions of dollars in political spending
“You need someone who’s going to go to every meeting,” Mayer has said, playing up her experience as a Yonkers assemblywoman.
“I’m an Albany outsider. I’m going to go up there, push some buttons and get things done,” said Killian.
