Kenise Barnes Fine Art Gallery presents “We’ve Got to Get Ourselves Back to the Garden,” an exhibition that showcases artists such as Gabe Brown, Amy Gross, Jill Parisi, Imi Hwangbo, Mary Judge, and Leigh Taylor who have demonstrated a world of fantasy, beauty, symbolism, sentiment, and three-dimensional drawings through their personalized artwork to the Westchester Community.
The artists used materials such as fabric, ceramic and cut Mylar to produce their finished pieces. The colorful and summer-filled art at the Gallery were inspired by life experiences, individual emotions, personal tastes, and decorative preference. One artist in particular, who was inspired by her life experiences was Gabe Brown. Not only were her images attractive but her use of the paint as well, caught the eye to many on-lookers in the gallery. As I spoke to Gabe Brown, she appeared to have a genuine passion for art; “My father was a painter; creativity runs in my family”. When asked if she had to give one advice to future painters, Mrs. Brown replied, “Keep painting!”.
The price list of the paintings ranges from $600-$5,800. The artists presented in the gallery are not only well-known but highly established in the realm of art and some have earned degrees from The Cooper Union, Dartmouth and SUNY New Paltz, to name a few. The works of art are also exhibited across the United States through several companies and art publications.
