Mamaroneck Fireworks: Click Here to Watch
We were struck by the size and enthusiasm of the crowd at Mamaroneck’s annual fireworks display Thursday evening. Families walked south along Mamaroneck Avenue to get close; some set their lawn chairs up in the middle of the road overlooking Harbor Island Park where village police blocked car traffic. In the park itself, the show had an intimacy that’s often missing from the larger, “grander” holiday displays. We lingered for a time at the Fireman’s Carnival, and afterwards strolled north along sidewalks packed with people. This is our town. It’s a nice feeling.
Video never quite captures the wonder of fireworks but you get the idea. Something to remember.
