Irene Damages Historic Trees in New Rochelle

Old Oak hit by Irene on Lester Place

Here are some early storm photos from the Beechmont neighborhood of New Rochelle. Trees and branches were down on Montgomery Circle and Lester Place, where two  100-year-old oaks lost their limbs.

Some basement flooding is reported, but otherwise residents expressed great relief that the storm seems to have passed as of noon on Sunday.
