BRONXVILLE–On line registration has begun for a truly unique writing course this Fall.
Experience the Bronx Zoo in truly novel ways — by writing about animals! A new non-credit course at the Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College will add animal voices and descriptions to your fiction and nonfiction writing.
Examples by Douglas Adams, Mark Twain, Edward Albee, A.R. Gurney, Johnny Tay, and Billy Collins will serve as inspiration for short stories, fables, blogs, and personal essays. There will be two field trips to the Bronx Zoo for behind-the-scenes tours and unique writing prompts. Selected student writing may be chosen for publication on the Wildlife Conservation Society’s website. Katie Dolan, a graduate of the Yale School of Forestry whose essays appeared in Conservation Biology and BetterAfter50, is the Instructor.
The course meets from 11:30 to 1:30 on Tuesdays during the fall at the Sarah Lawrence campus and tuition is $575.
