If you have never seen the community garden at Ward Acres, it is really a sight to behold…
42 garden plots of carefully tended vegetables and herbs in the wooded expanse of Ward Acres in New Rochelle.
85 of these community gardeners shared their goods at the first annual Harvest dinner . . .The pictured meal was sponsored by New Rochelle’s "Dinner in the Hand" and prepared by Executive Chef and Ward Acres plot owner Amy Bach, who used her garden-grown goods for the garden veggies with penne pasta and butternut squash spinach ravioli with sage brown butter.
The Garden plots are 10 by 12 ft. with plans to expand past 42 in 2010.
