A handgun was reported stolen from a man’s car parked in his driveway on Leatherstocking Lane, say Mamaroneck Town Police.
A .38 caliber, two inch barreled Smith and Wesson gun was apparently on the center console of the unlocked car. It was reported missing March 14.
Lt. Robert Koziak said the man has the required permits for the gun, and would not elaborate on his reason for carrying a gun in his car.
Town of Mamaroneck Police are investigating.
Benefit of the doubt: Perhaps someone responsible secured it from someone who was at least, to say it nicely, negligent.
Perhaps a gun owner who is irresponsible enough to keep a gun in his car, unattended and in plain sight should no longer have a gun license? Thanks to this guy, we now have an armed criminal.
