If you see women and girls around town with blue hair extensions, there is a very good reason why. It began with a
special collaboration:
Cindy Vucetovic of Cindy’s Hair Studio (far right) in Mamaroneck, first met Nancy Joselson, Executive Director of Pediatric Cancer Foundation (PCF) at the salon. They connected instantly and worked together on the idea of a kick-off event for the Annual PCF Bike-a-thon to raise funds. PCF is a non-profit organization, which funds for pediatric cancer research in area hospitals. Cindy generously offered to do blue hair extensions in support of kids with cancer. During the month of May, you can donate $10 to PCF and get a blue streak of hair extension at Cindy’s Hair Studio. Please call Cindy ahead of time at 914-835-3876.
On Friday May 7, 2010, a number of girls from the Mamaroneck schools, including many girl scouts came to Cindy’s Hair Studio to get their blue hair extensions. MHS club members, who support PCF (MHS4PCF), also came in to raise money for the Foundation. They raised $500 through bake sales at the high school towards the 10th Annual PCF Bike-a-thon on May 16th, 2010 along the Bronx River Parkway at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. You can bike, run, walk or simply come and show your support for PCF. It promises to be an entertaining day for kids with food, face painting, raffles and many more.
