Former Mamaroneck School District Superintendent Dr. Paul Fried passed away Monday at the age of 67. Dr. Fried served as Superintendent in Mamaroneck from 2005 to 2010. The cause of his death was not announced.
He was most recently a White Plains superintendent, a position he took on in July 2015 until going on medical leave about a year later. Before that, he was the schools chief of a district in Montville, New Jersey, and from 2005-10, in Mamaroneck.
“During his time in Mamaroneck, Dr. Fried forged strong relationships between parents, Board members, central and building administrator teams, and the Mamaroneck Teachers Association,” the Mamaroneck School District wrote in an email. “He will be greatly missed.”
