Remember Fields for Kids? This time they’re setting their sights on a $1.6 million baseball complex at Lorenzen Park.
The complex would include a softball field and a baseball field with underground drainage, electronic scoreboards, a concession stand, spectator seating and a paved parking area.
The funding for the project was raised by Fields for Kids, and Mamaroneck. New York State Assemblyman Steve Otis secured a $250,000 grant.
Jim Hanley, president of Fields for Kids, presented the check late last week to Larchmont Mayor Lorraine Walsh.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for the end of this month. The fields are expected to be playable in summer 2017. The existing field will be out of service for this year’s season.
What a photo! Four emptyheaded fools. Someone should audit these clowns because I smell fraud and embezzlement.
The mayor and a bunch of outsiders who are building more playing fields for outsiders to use. Time to merge the village and the town. There’s no differentiating the two, just extra costs.
