From April 10 to 20, the Mamaroneck Historical Murals will be launched throughout the
Village of Mamaroneck. Street artists from around the world will create six spectacular wall
paintings that pay tribute to the rich history of the Village. The Historical Murals Project is
sponsored by the Mamaroneck Historical Society, Village of Mamaroneck Arts Council, and
Street Art for Mankind, the Larchmont-based nonprofit organization producing the project.
“This will be an incredible artistic and community experience,” promises Audrey Decker, a
co-founder of Street Art for Mankind. “It offers people of all ages the chance to see artists
imaginatively interpret our foundational stories and celebrate our values.”
Residents and visitors are invited to meet the artists, watch the murals take shape, and
participate in special activities during Spring Break. The week-long program culminates in
an inaugural Art Walk and festivities on Saturday afternoon, April 20, starting at 1:00p.m.
