A Spark of Kindness Made a Light

October 29 @ 4:00 PM

Please join the Mamaroneck Library’s Poetry Group lead by Elizabeth O’Rourke via Zoom. Attendees will explore the poems in depth and will have a chance to generate some of their own work during a guided drafting session. Participation is not limited to those who have attended lectures in the past.

Poems discussed: I Wonder if I will Miss the Moss by Jane Mead; Once the World is Perfect by Joy Harjo

Elizabeth O’Rourke’s poetry has been featured by Krista Tippett’s “On Being” blog & in the anthology “Writing Fire.” She studied at Boston College and received an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. She is the poetry teacher at Mamaroneck Public Library & a regular reader at Wellington’s open mic evening. Born outside of Boston to an Irish Catholic family, much of her writing focuses on the sacredness and mysticism of her daily encounters with the world and what it asks of her.
