Dane Pawloff (1948-2011)

Many of us have lost a great friend, a father and Mamaroneck native.

Dane Pawloff died suddenly this week. He was 62.

Dane grew up on Richbell Road in Mamaroneck, graduated from MHS in 1966, graduated from the University of Miami and studied Computer Science at Iona College. A self-proclaimed “geek,” he worked, before retiring early, as a computer analyst at Conde Nast Publishing.

Dane was a frequent and hilarious contributor to theLoop, opining on subjects ranging from the “skank tunnel” to the problems at Hen Island in Rye, before moving to Hyde Park, NY about two years ago.  He was instantly recognizable by an over six-foot frame, which he reveled in folding into a beloved yellow Mini Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie, and two children, Hunter, 19, a freshman at Tulane University and Hayley,  a student at Mamaroneck High School.

Dane, you will be missed.
